Thing is, satellites were not used for phone calls, just television broadcasts, radio, and government use. Even today we still use undersea cables for phone and internet to connect the contents, which have been around for over 100 years. They are trying to use balloons and solar powered airplanes to get internet and phones to unreached areas, but that is still not developed yet, and are not in orbit anyway. So no, you would not be making a satellite phone call from a home or pay phone. But still a good song.Your cable tv stations come over satellite, then pumped to your house over cables from the local cable tv station.
