There has never been a steel guitar player that has this unmistakable sound like Roy Wiggins. Most of the pedal steel players all sound pretty much the same. They do not have a distinct sound.

Roy Wiggins the best of the best. I attended his memorial. Is it possible to mistake who is playing that steel?

The words are incredible here. I rem. these words from when I was a child. No one could ever sing it like Eddy. My husband and I loved this song. Thanks for sharing this on the web.

Until they released "Bouquet Of Roses" in 1948 this was the biggest hit in country music chart history, with 21 weeks at #1 and 46 weeks on the chart.

Thank you for posting this ORIGINAL recording of Eddy Arnold's classic song. Little Roy Wiggins was the incredible "steel guitar" player on it. A personal friend of mine. This song became my sweetheart and my "theme song" since I later married her; and she was my wife until she passed away on Aug 31, 2008 after 57 yrs. She would cry EVERY time she heard it, since we became sweethearts when she was 15 and I was 16. We married when she was 18. I am crying over her as I am listening. My angel
