those of us who grew up in the 80s were the LAST witnesses of decades old cruising along Galloway ave in Mesquite TX and Forest Ln, in Dallas TX. You cannot tell kids these days about how we tell our friends we would meet at the pizza inn at 7pm, and you would BE THERE because there were no cell phones, and you would spend HALF THE NIGHT trying to find your frineds at the roller skate rink, movies, or just driving around the usual places! Meeting girls was done IN PERSON, not on the web. You had to have an opening line that sounded good, upbeat and funny, yet not too funny. Driving in the cities, with the windows down, listening to 80s music seeing those trans ams, camaros, and fieros, with a mix of novas and some "mom's cars" on the strip. The smell of gasoline, night air, and womens perfume (IF you got lucky) was enough excitement for a young man, the thrill of getting that phone number to call the next day, all lost for good. I DO want to go BACK!!!

Luv'd this song, and several other songs from this time. People don't change much though, even when selfish people get older they look at everything as if it's always been about them. I'll bet that we all miss someone who isn't in our life anymore, and think about what we'd give/tolerate just to be with them again. The truth is, they could have turned out to be complete train wrecks who think that they're infallible. That shit never changes.
