Hi Mr. Varela. I am now confused who really was the original singer with so many versions: Eddie Fisher, The Platters, Al Hibbler, Roy Hamilton, etc. Would you know who really was the original singer and composer, please.

Ten years or so after his peak of fame, but he still had a great voice. One of the better versions I've heard.

Like I said , if you are Jewish, I understand. Nothing personal!

You seem to be hung up about Jewish people. Your animus and ignorance shows. Also your lack of taste. No sense arguing with you, but it seems everyone else here likes this version. Perhaps you just don't know what a quality singing voice sounds like and what it means to be able to sing without resorting to vocal tricks. Phil Spector thought so much of the Hatfield version he made it a B side on a 45.

Like all Jewish boys, they like those hot gentile women.

You are kidding, right? This cannot hold a candle to Hatfields version. Of course, if you are Jewish, I can understand why you think Fishers version is better.

I agree with you. John Gary and Roy Hamilton were fine singers. But this version by Eddie is the best.

Just saw the comment from Enrique, his opinion surely describes what he uses for brains and taste. This version is nonpareil. Eddie's combination of power, sweetness and tone just cannot be matched.

I prefer Roy Hamilton's and I also like John Gary's version, but I still like Eddie Fisher's. Most versions are good.

Indeed I am! I still prefer other renditions though!

Listen to Al Hibbler's version. He was a blind singer and I think the first to record this beautiful song c. 1954.

I agree with you, Eddie's life was his own business and should not have had any bearing on his professional life. I just listened to this song last night and Eddie did a great job on it, but then to me, he never recorded a bad song. And seeing him sing in person for so many years, all I can say is: He was the best, on stage and on record. I also agree with you about bringing back Young and Foolish.

Eddie is one of the greatest singers I ever heard. His personal life is supposed to be just that, personal. I hope they put Young and Foolish back on You Tube.
