Formerly known as TV Pop Crisis, Easy was formed in 1990 with Johan Holmlund (Born 13 July 1965, Jonkoping, Sweden; vocals), Tommy Ericson (Born 23 March 1966, Umea, Sweden; guitar), Anders Peterson (Born 12 November 1965, Jonkoping, Sweden; guitar, keyboards), Rikard Jormin (Born 2 August 1965, Jonkoping, Sweden; bass, vocals) and Tommy Jonsson (Born 15 June 1966, Vastervik, Sweden; drums). Heavily influenced by the more abrasive British acts such as the Jesus And Mary Chain, it was a logical move for the quintet to sign to the UK arm of Blast First Records. Similarly, Easy relished the opportunity to tour the British mainland and, thanks to support slots with Lush, the Charlatans and House Of Love, the group's mood-dominated guitarwork earned them a significant reputation and strong press support. Magic Seed proved to the group's lone album for Blast First, however, which was subject to financial difficulties due to its distributor's collapse and the exodus of its main acts Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. Easy were thus forced to return to Sweden without ever making good their initial promise. They negotiated a new contract with Snap Records, leading to the release of two singles, "Never Seen A Star" and "In Black & White", in 1993, but it proved impossible to reclaim their original impetus.
