Does any one know what happened,,I believe Fire and Smoke would be considered his most recognizable song,,..I picked this one up on Guitar ,,Great song,,I let him play on a loop ,,went to sleep,..woke up to Loves on the line,,..to this day I am astonished that his old songs still sound as appealing today as they did back then,,we need him back ,,with what is possibly the most appealing country voice of our time,,..Thanks,,...JSD,..ATP

Takes me back to '79-'80. I was 27, in my prime, two-stepping my life away.

I wish I could dig up his performance on Austin City Limits. Seven different guitar players in his band....soooo good.

I was a Country DJ back in the day too, Albert! Getting an ETC 45 in the mail was like Christmas because you knew what you had in your hands was going to be brilliant even before you cued it up on turn table one! When is Nashville going to acknowledge and respect this man's contributions to Country? With eighteen number one hits, you'd think they'd get a clue by now. ETC deserves a place in the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

@TheSernaboy ETC is good for sure. I like this song as well as What I'd Say, Fire and Smoke, Holding her and Loving you, and Somewhere between right and wrong. Well, the list can go on and on!

what! I can't believe no one has written anything. Earl Thomas Conley was one of Country music;s biggest hitmakers in the 1980's. I always thought his voice was so husky and just took me to another place. Honorbound is another one of his best hits. If you haven't heard any of his output of music you've missed out.
