Being an Oklahoma girl, I've been listening to D.T. since I was in junior high. I used to think the song title was You Ain't got No Lover!

Love this video. Best part to me is the Cowsill's. John doing the hair flip! Looks like he's having a blast.

Dwight, happy 63rd on June 6. I turned 51 on 6-10, and remember this song from '75.

On this day in 1975 {July 26th} the Dwight Twilley Band performed "I'm On Fire" on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'...Three months earlier on April 20th, 1975 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #99; and on the time of this appearance on 'Bandstand" the song was at #18, a week later it would peak at #16 {for 2 weeks} and spent a total of 18 weeks on the Top 100...Mr. Twilley celebrated his 63rd birthday last month on June 6th, 2014...

Saw him with Adrienne at the Roxy around 76 or 77. One of the best shows of all those best shows.

Where to start? This is the most exciting power pop riff ever recorded. I'm on Fire was in heavy rotation on KROQ in LA in 1976. Geez, it is searing. Crime that it is not heard more often on the "Classic Rock" stations. There are several on YouTube, but here is a 1970 clip of the Cowsills featuring Susan at the tender age of 9.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting some of these comments about Phil Seymour, but in this clip John Cowsill is drumming. Not meant to detract about Seymour's talent at all, it's just that isn't him in this clip.

That's my late brother in law Phil Seymour on the drums.(He went on to do (ALL) the back up vocals on Tom Petty's Breakdown, American girl, and one other I can't recall) RIP Phil.

Used to do a pretty good cover of this song in the late 70's. People always got up to dance, whether they knew the song or not. This whole album is some of the best crafted songs ever.
