Cuccurullo was so great. This phase for them was nice. I cannot praise enough their first three albums. That was timeless songwriting and musicianship. Rio -- all that. Loved it.But Cuccurullo added so much maturity and interest to the playing and, I assume, the songwriting, just as the time for Duran Duran was passing. they were reincarnated into a very interesting, "edgy," and newly creative band that I found fascinating, versatile, and complicated. Then, the originals got back together and -- voila! -- a stupid boy band -- same guys as at first, but just dumb (mostly, not entirely). Unfortunately, nobody had caught up to them in the interim, came back, found them as somewhat flacid images of their original glory days, and dismissed them. Rightly so, but they missed the really interesting middle part. I didn't. They are grossly underrated with Cuccurullo. If I mention "Duran Duran," I'm met with the accusation that I like teeny-bopper music. I do, but that's not Duran Duran, not here, not like this. This is solid stuff.

Are we sure these are Duran Duran? Great album Pop Trash, it sounds rock! I miss Cuccurullo work on guitar!
