Never got the point of inventing this "crossover thrash". Does not make sense. Early 80s extreme metal like Celtic frost, Bathory, Metallica, Sodom, slayer all had hardcore punk intensity and corresponding riff/drum techniques, derived from Discharge or GBH, so this "thrash metal" stuff already has punk element inside.
