This was the only top 10 solo hit Daryl Hall had as I remember, from late 1985-early '86.

Look I know that I seem very sad, but I met this gorgeous girl in London last year. I was told a couple of days later that she was Daryl Hall's daughter, I know her name because it's unusual and I asked her to spell it out [should have got her number=PRAT]. Anyway, she looks exactly like him and could well be his daughter, but she is f**k**g beautiful!! All I got from her was that her name is Rakelija(?),she lived in London, is about 21/2, studied at UCL and that her dad was American and her mum was of Welsh and Dutch parents. Does Daryl Hall have a British born daughter?

As the biggest hit for Daryl Hall on his own, "Dreamtime" should be the song anyone recognizes from his solo material. As the opening track from his classic 1986 album Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine, the song kicks off the album in a rock with strings type of way. It was released as a single prior to the album's release in August 1986, and peaked at #5 in October 1986, just two months after the album was released. This helped Three Hearts peak at #29 on the Billboard 200, and also helped it achieve Gold certification, Daryl's only solo album to have any certification at all, but also his only one to peak inside the top 30 of the album chart. A great song, opening track, and a great album it comes from!

Great song, and one of Daryl's best! Also, at 0:44, is that Downton Abbey we're flying over?

Together with John Oates, they became the most successful rock duo in history, with hits spanning the '70s and '80s, including six Number 1 hits. They were finally inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year. Though he will forever be remembered for the music of Hall & Oates, he did periodically perform solo projects, but without much success...except for this great song, his only big solo hit (Top 5 in 1986)...Happy 68th Birthday Daryl Hall..!

A couple of days ago I heard this song on a rerun of American Top 40 with Casey Kasem from 1986 over the radio, and I decided to look it up here on YouTube. Glad I found it.

Daryl Hall should've changed his name to Hit Machine in the 80's.
