Another example of the many, many, many groups who make reference to themselves in a song and end up with the plague of one and (barely) one hit wonder status. Forever to burn into oblivion as a nothing, which basically what they were to begin with. Make note of this theory and it proves itself right.

No 48 on my list Dream Warriors – My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style. I love the juxtaposition of different styles. It's a nice dander down memory lane stopping of simultaneously at two distinct eras and in the back of your mind’s eye is another genre trying to butt in, in the shape of Mike Myers at the start of one of the Austin Powers movies. To my shame I do not know the title of the original track but under the self-imposed rules of my scribbling I can’t sneakily look it up on Google. On rewatching I think that it is a beautifully evocative portrayal of an onrush of youthful euphoria which probably existed only fleetingly. The bright young things of (what I imagine, possibly wrongly, to be Italy) in the fifties or sixties are truly beautiful to behold, though I must admit that at points through the jaundiced eye of the twenty first century I’m afraid to say that I shifted uncomfortably in my seat at just how young some of these people were. That being said we must give the producers of the original film the benefit of the doubt and assume that their desire was merely to show us some joi-de-vivre. The dubbed over voices of the eighties rap style work a treat. In this case I have no idea what the lyrics are trying to tell us, indeed I fervently hope that they aren’t trying to tell us anything at all as, to my view, they are merely another instrumental addition to the original soundtrack which is itself incidental to the black and white footage. I do think that the laid back cool of the black lads’ silky voices compliments the music beautifully and the occasional use of double bass adds another little hint of the jazz era. Jazz aint really my thing, nor is the lyrical style of hip-hop being superimposed on other musical genres but in this case I feel they actually work really well together in much the same way as a little bit of sweet chilli sauce goes down a treat with a cheese and ham salad sandwich. //www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoE5yHMrP0A&index=5&list=FLgi7enw0G-c_uI_MNdnhGww
