This instrumental version makes me feel so young. I grew up in Denver but lived in Northern Illinois in my early twenties near where just about every John Hughes movies was filmed, pretty neat to see the actual schools from those films.

You know, they say that this whole film all this time could be in the mind of Cameron. If you see how he acts and how his life is, it would make since. Maybe that's what John Hughes wanted: a film about a depressed teen who imagines being a cool kid (Ferris), only to in the end finally getting the courage that he needed.

until now, i'd only known The Dream Academy's "Life in a Northern Town." i didn't realize they were a band long before that. in retrospect, i should have identified their style - sweeping acoustics, a touch of classical...very pretty. it's such a lovely instrumental.
