I played both games and I thoroughly enjoyed them both for different reasons. I didn't like the character set as much in the second game (adored fenris, and varric though. Isa only when she was doing party chatter lol) but the first game it felt like there was a lot more to like where the characters were concerned. They do both have their ups and down in both gameplay, content and plot choices though.
