How does he remember this song as a "troop ship favorite". You said he's a korean war vet, but Korea ended in 1953...this song came out in 1961...almost 10 years after when your dad saw action

My father was a vet from Korea and during the rebuilding of Europe. He remembers this song as a troop ship favorite. In the old days mass troop movements were by ship. He was a paratrooper in the Army. I was so lucky when I came home from my time in service, because I had someone to talk to. Like a lot of guys I was a little crazy when I came home. Thank God for my Dad.
