On this day in 1860 {October 15th} Grace Bedell of Westfield, NY sent a letter to Presidential candidate Abraham Lincoln suggesting that he should grow a beard to improve his appearance... About a month later in November 1860 he started to grow one... And ninety five years later on November 12th, 1955 "Young Abe Lincoln" by Don Cornell entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #25...
