as someone probably already said, this is from the 1980's. Also, the Fresh Prince raps about sex, drugs and violence too, though not on this particular song (Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble is an example) and never pretending to be somebody he's not. Gangsta rap has been around since the early 80s, though back then, gangsta rappers like Schooly D and Ice T were actually (former) criminals who wouldn't try to glorify that lifestyle. Today's gangsta rappers do the opposite, coming from respectable backgrounds and pretending to be dangerous gangsters. NWA (sort of) started this trend in 1988, same year this came out.
