I read a little on google and wikipedia, too. There it is said, the Pentagramm is a druid symbol to banish evil ghosts and influences. They believed that the ghosts come like birds and that a symbol that looks familiar like the foot of a bird would hold them outside their houses. Then the Church of Satan turned it upside down and said it looks like the head of a goat, a devilish sign.But at first it was a symbol of druids and shamans what was the first kind of religion if you can speak of it. the "civilized" folks called it "heathen" its time. I hope i wrote it right because my school english is a little bit rusty.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but guys, the pentagram on their logo isn't satanic. When it has a point at the top, it's actually religious. It signifies the five wounds of Christ. It's only satanic when it's upside down, where there are two even points at the top and one at the bottom. Then, it resembles a goat head, with the two points as horns. This is as commonly misunderstood as the meaning of the swastika before the Nazis adopted it.

To me, this sounds like a promise one is making. The promise being that they will wait until the love of their life has similar emotions and until that day he/she will suffer if it means having the connection (being removed from the crucifix) in the end.
