The two really can't be compared in my eyes. Jakub has a very clean, soulful way of playing and in his choice of tone, while Abasi has a much more technically aggressive playstyle, both in riffing and improvisation, and this is also reflected in his guitar tone. Both stupendously amazing guitarists, but in their own right.11 years назад

When you say 'discretely', it doesn't mean that autotune always has that one purpose of covering up. Autotune used to cover up a lack of singing talent and autotune used for adding glitchy colour to music are completely different things.11 years назад

do you even jazz? i'm talking about the ability to IMPROVISE, the ability to create rhythmic phrasing in improvised solos, I'm not talking about composition or songwriting. Yes i agree Tosin is theoretically more complex when it comes to composition & song-writing, but he's never been an improvisational player.11 years назад

The key word in his statement is "improviser". He's obviously talking about improvisation, not song-writing. Tosin admit it an interview that he's no good when it comes to improvising over chord and harmony changes: Tosin: "Even though I learned jazz, I’ve never been a fierce improvisational player—it’s kind of where I wanna go with my playing now—but the music I make for Animals As Leaders is very compositional."12 years назад

Yes for sure. Don't get me wrong...I'm not bringing them down at all I really love what Disperse is doing! That riff is just exactly the same..rhythm wise its pretty spot on. Not that its a bad thing either that's pretty much what music is in a sense...taking similar idea's and expanding on them.12 years назад
