@schoschie I couldn't have said it better myself. I was stunned when I heard Dionne's version; it's simply beautiful. I've heard Krall and Springfields versions, wonderful versions (Springfield the better of the two,) I TRULY enjoy both of their versions, but Dionne. . . . . . . . . . breathtaking! She obviously has the better voice of the 3, and she also delivers it smoothly, with clarity, and just clean. The others are breathy, acted, but Dionne just GIVES it smooooooth and clean. I'm in love.

Just a beautiful song...I found a record of her movie singles in a Goodwill... I was born in the early 90s. This rendition of this song was made in 69' I'm proud to say it was the first recording I ever heard from a record player :) So amazing..

Dionne is it for me, and this singing is crystal emotion+control. But this '69 arrangement doesn't get the romance of say Diana Krall in Paris (sure, 40 years can improve scoring). Sergio Mendes 66 was long my fav, and this later Dionne version from N2010R offers perfect singing. THE arrangement tho still needs a discoverer: 85/15 romance/sex, no strings/synth. Mancini prob was the one, but best I can tell, he didn't do it.

When singing The Look of Love....with the warmth feel and utmost sultriness, Dusty's version is tops. Krall's version is seductive but lacks the warmth. Dionne's more like any of her many pop ballads.
