Joan Osborne ruined this song for me (in that I cannot enjoy hearing anyone else singing it.) That being said, Didi has a beautiful voice.

There is no doubt that she has a wonderful sound but.... A singer shouldn't be more important than the song and she doesn't convey the feelings from the song the way they should be. In other words, she doesn't bring her listeners to tears. If you want to hear how it should be sung, check out Joan Osborne's version. It's even better than the original by Jimmy Ruffin.

Didi is a wonderful artist, and she doesn't need to win Idol to reap it's benefits. I had the pleasure of working in the studio with her a few days ago, laying bass and doing backup vocals for her, and trust me... she's well on her way up. Stay tuned, she's got some great songs coming.

i express my sympathy towards her for losing her best friend but that doesn't change my opinion on the performance. music should be judged on execution, not one's life story

just because she has a pretty voice doesn't automatically make it a good performance. her performance was rather dull and redundant. she didn't have any emotional/dynamic progression in the vocals and it was just stale.
