Almost sound like the Batusi on the Batman TV-series.I remember hearing this back in the early summer of 1989.Great tune along with the Batusi.

Must have been recorded around 1960 or 1961!And still sounds great all these years later.Dick Dale must have been in his teens when he recorded this.

Dale was not the biggest name back in the day. However while he was at Harmony Park (Anaheim) he was on top at one time in the Los Angeles song ratings with three songs in the top ten. #10 was Peppermint Man #3 was Surf Beat and #1 was Miserlou. This was at the same time

saw Dick at Rendezvous Ballroom in Balboa and then Harmony Park in Anaheim after it burned down. The early act in Balboa was the Righteous Brothers. This was a dance hall, You could go up to the stage and watch Booby Hatfield do Unchained Melody and then Bill Medley do Georgia, Bill's best song in my opinion. Let's Go Trippin !

Bought my first Dick Dale 45RPM record (Surf Beat) in 1962, at the age of 15, and have loved the guy ever since. As a fellow Southpaw it always kinda made me proud to see Dick kicking ass with that Fender Stratocaster from the left side of the strings.

Actually Walk don't run by The Ventures was first in 1960 with 300 copies of their version of walk don't run were pressed and distributed to radio stations and DJs. It became a #2 hit single on billboards charts. I am fortunate to own one of the original copies. On 07/14/13 sunday nite I saw Dick Dale perform in Mishawaka Indiana at Smiths Downtown Tap and Grill......What a show!!! Just simply amazing the sound that came from his gear!!! Also I got my red lefty fender strat autographed!!!
