All of the information that everyone has are all true, her affair with Berry Gordy and been push to the front, but, let's face it, Diana Ross had the voice that fitted the songs and the time and she sounded good too. As time progressed, her looks begin to improve as well and she looked more sophisticated than the others. Mary though was a beautiful girl too and thin and sang, so she could have done something, but as praised as Florence was, I was not impressed with her and would not have bought their records if she would have been the lead. Now that is my own personal opinion, we all have different tastes. Diana really developed very well and the proof is that she became a superstar and had many records and # 1 records at that, with The Supremes and as a Solo artist. Love her.

The thing that was unique about Diana was her great phrasing, pitch, tone and the way she had a light but strong voice. No one could imitate her. She was a great gift to music.

@AzzedineAliaFan mary and florence went to grooming and deportment classes just as diana did. diana was far more ready to rule the world. florence was depressed all the time and mary was a party gal. diana was the chosen one because she wanted it the most and it showed.

@AzzedineAliaFan i meant "mary/florecen WERE NOT given a chance to meet their full potential, they were merely back up singers in berry's eyes, he did allot of motown artists wrong (taking their royalty/earings,etc.) i hope he gets what he has coming to him. If it wasn't for the artists, where would he be! Granted he did great things for blacks but he mad sure he lined his pockets first.

Respond to this video...also today it's not about talent, (rihanna, etc.), all you have to do is push the envelope, talk and suggest sex and you are a star (female artists). Back then you had to have singing/dancing abilities or you didn't go anywhere. Mary/Florence weren't groomed as diana was, she had an affair w/berry so she was of course pushed to the forefront. Mary/Flo were given the chance to meet their full potential and that was fucced up, i think.

@SpazChat madonna, didn't start out as a trio, she was solo. the supremes were a sisterhood, childhood friends, and i could never just step on them to get to the top if i were her, it seems all to cold/calculating, i read mary's book and some of the things it said diana did were in concert w/berry's intentions for her. I know she worked hard and deserved what she did but how they ousted florence in the midst of her issues (being raped) was just too cold, i'm sorry

@SpazChat i agree, i think she's one of the best but isn't getting her dues as her contemporaries are (the beatles, etc.). I feel it's because she is a woman and a black woman, it's sad that she didn't garner more hits or more attention/press during her career, but she sure did garner her fair share of negative moments (mary's book, etc.). I am sort of torn about that, i am a fan, but i kinda believe that she did the girls wrong during the 60's to reach the top. ..

@SpazChat wow, i got the cd since i posted this but thanx. I love that "i'm still waiting," glad it was enjoyed in other parts of the globe during it's release, the us can be/is very fickle with regards to some artist's material. . .

i used to play the heck outta this song.i still have the 45..i played it on my one speaker record player..lol.i actually liked it better than the a side which i think was remember me? I am not sure. the pics are beautiful but dont go with the time of this recording..where she wore her hair short,much thinner..and definately 70s with afro lol..still i havent heard this cut since i played the 45 years ago..lol no one remembers it.she was experimenting.tryin to find herself. she did in the 80s.
