What a gorgeous mini-set from an equally gorgeous singer, singing gorgeously!Her phrasing, tonality, understated rhythm, etc., are all top-notch here, and she's definitely not singing in her full voice. Not even close.Her moves. Her sensuality. The way she she "works" the mic, her gown, etc., is the reason why long after all others have faded away, Diana Ross still be considered the epitome of class, style, sensuality, elegance, singing & performance.

fool billie holiday wore mostly white dresses and gowns and diana did too in lady sing the blues. silly comment. she looks gorgeous. these songs suit her song bird vocals.

a woman, who looks so mega beautiful like Diana did during her top beauty period, can sing whatever she wants. This is a woman, who should be attractive to everyone. I like in Diana's concerts, that I can hear different music types. That case is also when you go to a Kid Rock concert. I love live concerts a lot, the stage personality of the artist/band is for me more important than the music. What is a good singer, when he or she can't make a good show???

Well that's why Diana is so successful. She probably turned the ears of many who thought they'd never listen to pop or soul or jazz. I don't like country music, but when Carrie Underwood sings it, it's a different story.

I saw Diana in perform in the Palm Springs desert in 2011. Her live voice has taken on a somewhat bland and non-descript character, but she had all 4000 concert goers shakin' their thing. And no, even at 60something, she didn't get booed off stage.

Dude or lady: I actually like, (not love) this dress, but that it is white is off in my opinion. Lady Sings the Blues was in White at the end with the white Gardenia in her hair and she also told Mandesa on American Idol a few years back to where white when she was performing God Bless. As for the lace, its girly, but lots of ladies like that look. I will take this over the hoochie look favored by today's divas most of whom shouldn't be in outfits like that., BKnowles, JLO, MCarey.

I'm not a big fan of jazz music. But Diana sings jazz very well.

Well we all know what happened to Whitney who was booed and ridiculed during her last ever tour, and was fatter than Diana will ever become. And the day we see Madonna singing live with a small jazz ensemble, we all might join Whitney, the shock would just about finish us off. Your observations only serve to remind us how popular culture has coarsened over the years. This ,by any standard , is a fantastic performance. It's glorious!

agree. she was also one of the very few singers that sounded as good in person/live as she did in the studio.

"Stunningly beautiful" is a perfect description of Diana's voice in her prime, and believe me, a hell of allot more people than you think totally agree with that opinion. It's only recently that more people have come to change their attitudes about the diva of all divas because of industry politics, propaganda and often outright sabotage by her jealous rivals. Much of the public, unfortunately, simply band-wagoned from there.

i personally think she had a stunningly beautiful voice in her prime but that is a minority view. today "loud" screaming gospel style is defined as "good/great singing" & Ross was never much interested in going down that road. thank God.

she looks like she's wearing a wedding dress or a lace table cloth. highly inappropriate for this set of songs. she wasn't even fat then like she is now. she could have worn anything with her thin frame. today she looks like a sack of potatoes in a colored burlap potato sack.

Someone should've told you, that this comment makes absolutely no sense!! Diana in almost every concert I've seen her sing LSTB music was a wearing a white gown.

that's because she had her day and accolades. for 2.decades she was # 1 or #2 female performer in the USA. lets face it she was replaced by whitney houston, madonna and the like when they came on the scene prior to that her star shown brighter than the rest.
