Devin Townsend is an incredibly versatile, brilliant musician and songwriter. I’m not much of a fan of country music (with the exception of good ol’ Johnny Cash, and incidentally, this album has been described as "haunted Johnny Cash songs" and I couldn’t agree more) but he pulls it off with such finesse in this album. This song in particular has haunted me through my headphones, and I can’t seem to stop hitting the repeat button…

i swear this man cannot make an album that i don't like. my favorites of his are more the ziltoid/deconstruction/SYL heavy stuff and ocean machine/terria proggy type stuff...but goddamn i enjoy this and the ghost/devlab/hummer divergent strangeness that i usually wouldn't bother to check out from other artists. a country rock album of all things...the man is a fucking genius.

Like an amalgamation of Radar Love, Thats alright Mama with Dido on vocals. Hey. I aint complaining. Thats a great mix. The album is superb by the way. Devy has also found himself another female goddess on vocals :-)
