i think there are alot of girls who should listen to this song and watch this video cos i went out in port douglas for the first time the other night and i wore a non revealing top and some pants but holy shit there was so many girls wearing too much make up and vagina high dresses and revealing tops leaving nothing to the imagination and one bent over so robbie and i looked , i mean wat else is there to do but have a look while we having drinks lol they flaunt it like they got nothin to hide if i was there mother i would be ashamed yeah im a chick but i got raised with brothers and a bunch of males as friends so im like one of the guys

I quite like this music. And its meaning. I don't understand why there are people saying DC are being sexist. Because they speak the thruth? Its true that we were to act in a certain way, and that women and men have the right to dress as they want. But does that mean a woman should go outside wearing only a thong and a bra and men only boxers? No. Now regarding women, we have been fighting for years to have the same rights and be in the same level as men, and in my opinion, all those women who fought and made protests, have had all that work to now, in the present, girls say that a women walking half-naked, is empowering? And if a women wants to walk half-naked she has the right to? Where is the empowering in that? Where is the class in that? Having rights doesn't mean you have to act trashy. Having empowering and being a feminist, is all about respecting ourselves. And that includes wearing clothe.

I like most of Destiny's Child's music, but the message of this song is basically to not express yourself sexually or through fashion. It's such a hypocrisy as well with them not usually wearing that much clothes and selling their music by sexualising it.
