The way I see it, if and when an underground artist gets recognition from the mainstream, they should not automatically be known as a "sell out" or any other name you can put on it. Artists should still be evaluated by the quality of their work and people shouldn't get pissed when they finally make the money from it that they deserve. And when the music goes downhill, my advice is just stop listening.

who gives a fuck if it's classified as mainstream or underground - thats just based on it's popularity and who pays them. Why can't we purely appreciate something for it's quality??

I'll admit I dislike it when artists I know blow up and people I know will spam them on fb, etc., but I'd rather have them get the deserved recognition and support then stay at the bottom, unless they're content with that and don't wish to move on (which I don't see why you would).

@konfuscius agreed man, but I guess nowadays the musical taste of people is not the problem. i think problem is, majority don't think about the music they listen to, they just take what is given to them by media, that is my opinion on why mainstream sucks, we do not choose, we are fed... but this upload is great, thx ;)

@teRemPlet Granted, I enjoyed seeing her +5 Doomtree members play in a venue of about 50 people, but the sound was shit, and not enough people knew the music. Would I want to see her putting on stadium style shows like the Gaga's and the like? Well that would mean that people had taste in music, and possibly even the manner which they live their lives. supporting underground artists too much makes them mainstream do you want that to happen to your music? not saying you shouldn't support them, just making sure you are all aware of the outcome :)
