A "clam" is a guitar player's term which refers to playing a fast scale run that isn't perfect or doesn't go as planned or has blatant mistakes up the kazoo. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it, (cause EJ is the greatest), but his solo work in this video between 2:08 and 3:06 is so full of clams, one could make a fine clam chowder. It's really okay, though, he's played this solo thousands of other times perfectly, so he's allow one crappy one IMHO.
