This song reminds me of this guy who was a good friend to me, maybe he could've been more but I was obsessed at the time with an asshole. My friend was no punk, but he was still always there for me and he'd always be like: "damn girl just leave that dude he's busted AF and driving you crazy" etc etc. but I held on too long. I knew my friend would've been a good guy to me but I just couldn't stay away from the asshole at the time. Now when I hear this song it reminds me of that friend and makes me almost see it through his point of view, and how he must've felt. He deserved better anyway...
