The passing of Chi was a real milestone and passing of an era in Deftones music for me. The real driving pulse that is exemplified in this song and many others are actually Chi's bass line. Him playing those 16th notes with his warm bass sound really pushes the momentum of the song. Plus his screams as backing vocals is as much a part of their sound and any other member.
