This is the fifth track from Deep Purple's seventh album, Who Do We Think We Are (1973).

Lineup (Mk II) - Ritchie Blackmore: guitar, Ian Gillan: vocals, Roger Glover: bass, John Lord: keyboards/organ, and Ian Paice: drums/percussion

Lyrics:

Hey baby, what you gonna do

When the lights go up on you ?

What's your name, can I drive you home ?

Sweet woman, are you all alone ?

You're the one for me

I'm gonna keep you busy as a bee, could bee, could be

Rat bat blue

Now, get up woman, don't be slow

It's getting late and I wanna go

No cause for acting big

Got to love, got to live

Stick around with me

I'm gonna show you things you never thought you'd see,

you see

Rat bat blue

You're so fine

Get out ! You didn't understand

I'm a hard loving man

No way you can satisfy

The way you look, the way you lie

And when you shut the door

Make sure I don't see you 'round here no more

Rat bat blue

Alright

This song is proof of what a good band Deep Purple Mk II was. Maybe that is why MK III wasn't accepted as much, even though "Burn" was in my opinion the best DP album. Too bad Blackmore didn't like Glenn Hughes

Let's all have a look at the song "Watch Your Step" by Bobby Parker (1961). That will give you an impression of riff borrowing. Or is it even plagiarism? Search for this song on Youtube and judge by yourself.

Hear the harmony man, don't zero in on one artist whose name you can't even spell correctly. Did you ever have even one album of Deep Purple or you simply flanked spelling in school? get this right , OK: IAN GILLAN is the correct spelling of the Deep Purple's soloist and he never wanted to stay away from the Deep Purple - he was simply separated for a while and at that time Deep Purple engaged David Coverdale as replacement from late 1973 to 1st qtr 1976. The present Deep Purple, minus Jon Lord (R.I.P.) and Ritchie Blackmore, are still together and all of them are advancing in age and they still have Ian Gillan as soloist.

This may not be the best album they did, but this track is damned strong. That riff of Ritchie's is damned catchy, isn't it... Also, Woman From Tokyo and Mary Long are strong tracks on this one, I'd say. Not at all bad for a "substandard " album, eh...?
