Here around me metal is no mainstream, why should be, that could suit for the USA, but not for Germany. There a only a few Albums that nearly reach charts or are shown on TV, Metal is definately no Mainstream around here, maybe its different to the USA. But youre Speech is useless if you were never to Europe. X-Factor was only an example to put a line under my commentary that "Metal" is for a 100 % no Mainstream around here, so you misunderstood that point. I wish you a nice day m8

i dont think so m8, there is an example, in our casting show in germany x-factor a folk duo won against a dubstep, skrillex, hardrock band, so what is mainstream!!!!!! That folk thing was poppy enough to catch those mainstream zombie heads. Metal will never be a whole "Mainstream" for all those people,because they never appreciate the beauty within it!!!! Word!!!!!

@RubasJLeone A cover is you saying, "I'm going to take this song and do it in my own style." Your own style can definitely, and obviously, be better or worse than the original's. Children of Bodom did a cover of "Oops I Did It Again" by Britney Spears. Yeah.. so you're saying they did that out of respect? Rrrrriiiiiiiiiiight.... So I guess you're ridiculously conceited, but you don't know the reason why every band covered every song. They all have different reasons... 'tribute' is not literal.

@MrMikeMETALHEAD Response to 1) Fuck pop. It tends to have well executed vocals, but instrumental support is consistently weak. 2) "Only mainstream music can get popular." So it can only be popular if its popular. Got it. All cleared up. 3) Different types of music have different attributes. One of metal's is demanding instrumental parts. So metal is harder to -create- than other types of music. That intricacy and variation is substance, beauty, and it outweighs 'catchy' by only a fuck-ton.
