You sit down Native American cross-legged style put your head down and weep because there will never be such a great band trio of vocals Christian artists ever which were at their highest peaks with album Jesus (ha! the auto spell correct actually put 'Jedi') Freak and Supernatural . The God lyrics are so poignant especially with the great musicians who accompanied them with the percussion , strings and keys. An elaborate symphony orchestrated to glorify Father God!

Ohhhhh, mannnn, I do so ever envy you , elsuper97!! I never got to see them live! I missed all the rejuvenation I'd get from Jesus Ffreak and Supernatural albums. They are like twin siblings joined together at the hip. They made Christian grunge/rock at the top highest of there form: the Christ lyrics with the perfect combination of percussion , strings and superb trio vocal variations coming from just 2 Honks and a Negro servin' the Loooooooord!

i went to this conceert, it was the summer of '98, they came to san antonio tx, i know they did this in many other cities but, i can never forget some of the things they did or how they sung. A friend and I went to the concert and sat very close to the stage. I remember seing them in Fiesta Texas as DC Talk and also with their solo projects. Good times and great memories...

@ely2333 You don't get out much, do you? Look up some Petra videos/songs and you'll get a good education on what it means to be a Christian band/artist. Don't get me wrong, DC Talk is my favorite but I also love Petra.

Skillet has never said that. In their new dvd/cd combo, they said they're a "Christian band" at the concert and had a nice God speech. Going mainstream isn't bad. Skillet has done VERY well at it. But POD, etc has gone to far. Skillet is still very open about their faith and won't deny their beliefs. They tour with Christian bands mainly. I think they're at Winderjam with Toby right now.

Agreed. Reminds you of U2 because a huge swath of gospel/Christian rock musicians (esp. guitarists being influenced by Edge) were heavily influenced by U2, it's really evident in a lot of DC Talk's other stuff.

To call the Christian music generic and imply that mainstream pop music ISN'T, is weak. Pop music (both Christian and mainsteam) is lame. Turn off the radio and explore REAL music.

yeahhh!!! i did know you'd said that. you know,i think you're right with the idea of not wanting to be associated with Christian music industry but dc Talk founded it, all the later bands have their influence, it's just that they are so generic as you said, dc Talk was so deep, authentic and inspiring, so we'll never have someting like that again, unless they come togheter again... but i'll try again... so, what about Delirious?? i'm pretty sure they have said specifically they are christians ;)
