I think Davy was a bit of a "late bloomer". In his screen test for the Monkees ( which you can find on youtube) it comes up that he wasn't shaving yet. I've had this album since 1966. I feel like I grew up with Davy Jones. I've loved hearing his voice change and mature over the years. Always beautiful. His last song , recorded just weeks before he passed (Written in my heart), is also on youtube. So sad that he's gone : (

Oh how funny! I love the version that was sung in "Walk the Line" but I didn't realize that Davy Jones had recorded this song as well! Awesome find! He sounds adorable! =)

Just for the FYI about Davy's voice -- it sounds young because he WAS young with this one. This is off his 1st album entitled (what else) DAVID JONES ... it's his PRE-MONKEES voice. He was only a teenager when he recorded it. Heck he was only about 19 when he became a Monkee - read the history on him. Davy was, is and always will be a great performer and singer!
