The remake had some decent scenes.. but the actors were all wrong and  it lacked the twist ending that made it stand out. Even the tv version was all  wrong. These movies back in the early 70s and towards the end of the decade had a specific formula. They were for the most part gritty great music to compliment the specific scene in question, and the actors were believable. Walter Matthieu was great as a dry humorless boss and that scene with the japanese was classic. Then you had a cold calculating Robert Shaw as the main villain was creepy and you believed him when he was going to do something. These days most of these  movies are by the numbers and it shows. One movie I saw was like a 70s movie was The most Violent Year .

great movie, when this came out I was lucky enough to be the kids age. the lead car was a R21/22 model from the 1950's. Great in your face train riding back then
