Well I never! I always assumed this was "the" Dave Stewart pre Eurythmics, maybe browsing through a few singers until he gelled with Annie Lennox. In a way I'm glad, because I always thought this was a great performance by Ms Gaskin and being cast aside for Annie Lennox (who's also pretty handy with the tonsil shaking) seemed harsh.

That looks like the late Pip Pyle (drummer with DS in National Health and Hatfields) behind the Simmons electronic drums, which he never played on any of the many times I saw him live. I think slipstream musicians tended to invite their mates to share TOTP miming gigs so they'd get a fee! Have a look at Robert Wyatt's TOTP version of 'I'm A Believer' which is on YouTube somewhere - talk about mob-handed : ) - and with Fred Frith on guitar, too.That's not a 'Yank voiceover' - the DJ that week (KId Jensen) was Canadian - it's his Voice

Great song, but there's a problem after the chorus - nobody managed to ace the segue. I would love to know how Phil Spector tackled it but his arrangement remains unreleased.
