Der Feler ist natürlich längst verziehen ;-)) für mich bleibt das aber eine Melodie, und zwar eine, die über 1,5 Oktaven geht und mich dazu bewogen hat, diese "auszuleihen" und eine eigenes Lied davon zu machen, siehe Mandeltraum hier bei Youtube Ab und zu nehm ich schöne Melodien, um davon eigene Lieder zu machen, schau dir doch mal Angie oder den Banjoboy an, weitere Lieder sind in der Pipeline, u.a. wird auch der Berliner Zoo darin vorkommen, bestimmt ist für dich was dabei

Apparently Dave Clark doesn't drum on too many of the hits (to say the least). Rumors Rick Huxley didn't play the bass on every song either. Denny Payton was actually a good sax player. Smith and Davidson could play as well (keys and guitar). Thing is, the band played locally and live in the Tottenham area for 4 years or so before making it big. They also played live on their tours. So, to say they couldn't play their instruments is sort of silly. Session players were used at times. Meh.

These boys were clearly trying to change their sound. They were sooo successful in the early days. I really love this song though. Reminds me of Tabitha Twitchit. Can't believe I have never heard this before. Can this be found on a CD somewhere?

Agree, they were way ahead of their time. So sad Mike died the week before DC5 was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. He left us too soon. Saw them in Columbus, Ohio. Many memories.

Of all the silly DC5 miming moments, I think the daftest was the insistance that Denny Payton mime on his sax as if was a full horn section (see also Red Balloon, You Got What It Takes). Mike Smith was such a great singer, yet by this time they were completely devoid of any musical credibility

Love this song; love Mike Smith. The DC5 were way ahead of their time and Mike Smith's voice is timeless. If this comment finds its way to his lovely wife, I want her to know how wonderful she was for all she did for her beloved husband. I too lost a loved one to the complications of that unspeakable injury.
