"The Party's Over" is on the "Dynamic" LP which is now available on CD. I do agree with you that her version of this song is indeed the definitive one, as is "My Funny Valentine", Ain't No Use" and practically everything else she sang.

"Late Late Show" was her first LP. In the Night" and the "Dynamic" LP which followed it were just as brilliant. The party kept on rolling with "Crazy He Calls Me" All 4 LPs were masterpieces. These first 4 Lps were the best of her Capitol Records period. They set the bar extremely high for female jazz singers and were indeed unsurpassable. What a magnificent artist, human being and dear devoted friend she was to me. I'll always love and miss her. She was indeed the one of our greatest ever.

Hi Tina I was born and brought up in Boston and went to Basin Street South on Washington st . all the time. Loved the place . Use to go there when I was twelve and stand outside to listen to the music . They would bring me inside give me a ginger ale then made me go home. First time Lambert Hendricks and Bavan was there. By the way the Martorano boys dad owned it then ..

My mother used to Sing at Basin Street herself. And she used to sing songs by Dakota Staton. I bought her the CD for Mothers Day today because she brought it up a few weeks ago....You must be from Boston?
