I know this is an iconic song etc but the more the performance accentuates the lyrics the more clumsy and contrived the whole thing becomes. The lyrics are a pigs ear. The performance of Wooden Ships on `Steve Stills Live` nails this song with powerful keyboards and guitar and drowns out the sillyness of the lyrics.
