Simply... we were raised during Vietnam era on John Lennon , MLK and Bob Marley Idealism, then we became teenagers with all the hippies disco-ing out and betraying us and Lennon got killed/etc, and they didn't seem to care any more about the values we were raised on, and then Reagan and the 'yuppies' came... and nobody seemed to care about the ideals we were raised on and just seemed like liars and posers and sell-outs and we felt just betrayed and that they were just full of shit trendies and never were really serious... whereas we had believed it and were raised on it. Crass expressed what we were going through and feeling more than practically anyone.

OK, I'm gonna paste what I posted elsewhere....Clash/Crass means pretty much the same to me, disillusion in the same autocratic/governmental system in which we all "reside in"......See, Punk as a phenomenon, deals pretty much with the suffering/pain of a society in conflict with a system that isn't working, hence rebellion/striking out at such a system....This isn't the place to bring about such broader concepts as UFO/Ovni as such, but when you take in the geo-political ramifications of punk, which is subversive in its' nature/origins, it brings the whole "Prometheus" shyt into context......It's about humanity and it's origins, which date back farther than most of us realise....we have been "under the cosh" for longer than any of us would care to actually consider, the whole bible/torah/bahgadahvita, yes, to the earth-bound mind are all hypothetical/mythical stories, that we can without faith discount, but......If you take in ALL the info from these older cultures, we can build a BIGGER picture of who and what we are.....To quote a Ministry song from the 80's......"Connect the GOD-Damn Dots"....... can't remember which president of the US or General or whatever, when he said..." We are dealing with powers, NOT of this world !!!
