The Crows sing the truth. This band is so soulful. Those that can't appreciate them can't recognize the truth or they don't accept the truth. I guess this is why they don't have a bigger following.

All of you who say the song doesn't make sense must not have listend to the lyrics very closely. It is simply about growing up and having some of the simple things in life like "a good home", raising children, a color t.v. And essentially he is saying it may take 40 years to get these things he needs. Im sure he has more than he needs as far as materials things at this point.

I first heard this song off of their bootlegs in the 90's they have so many songs not put on nothing but a live album. I've loved Counting Crows since they came out in the 90's Rock on!!!
