This is actually really good. I mean, I'm not really a rap guy; there's alot of records put out by guys named Big Shooter or something, called, Awesome Killer, or something. I guess when your life sucks, it's easier to say, "My life is twisted and fucked up, and I like it that way", rather than, "My life is twisted and fucked up.... man!" But, this is better.... I mean, there's so much of that, but I got to thinking, the vice of it, you know, gangster thug glory, a non-technical thing, can't be the same as the technical description: uh, non-singing vocals, or however you'd describe it.... I mean, it'll have a certain character or something, but everything has to have a.... a legitimate purpose, apart from however people distort, whatever it is.And I had a feeling that Common would be a guy to bring out the rightness in it, although I won't go into that.... Anyway, it's actually good storytelling: very sort of impressionistic storytelling, and in songs, or, whatever, we always have these impressionistic stories: they're not plot-heavy, and this piece brings out the potential for a sort of mysteriousness that that has..... I also like how it's not about this imaginary conspiracy on the part of John Stereotype: no, John is just like everybody else.... I suppose that's selfish of me, well, not really, but you know what I mean. Nobody benefits from self-deception, though: not the wealthy Victorian who thinks that he's genuinely generous, and not Common, and Common's no fool. It's not simple, like, there's no such thing as a suit, or whatever. And, that's, you know..... But who likes thorny problems. I mean, the thing is, if you can figure this out, for-sure, then you're smarter than me. That's the thing: it leaves you with a feeling that, no, it's not fair, and no, you can't figure out with any sort of mortal device, how exactly, why exactly..... exactly, anything. You know, it's just.... Duh duh. What does that mean; I don't know.... Duh duh. You know, somebody should say something, right now: give an awesome speech. An awesome speech will solve everything.... Too bad we didn't include a transcript of the awesome speech.... Ah, but then it wouldn't have helped any, me boy, 'twould have been right dizzy foolishness.... But 'tisn't the world all foolishness, then. Ah, 'tis, Dad.Sorry. ^^ Stereotype power, yeah! We don't all.... talk like that/make music like that.... But it is fun..... And I had one other point to make, because my ancestors taught me to never shut up.... What was it.... Oh yeah, well, it's not R&B, obviously, everybody knows that, (the sun is in the sky!), it's not like most singing music, I don't have to go through every kind of music, modern popular music, and describe how similar to is to R&B, and unlike rap.... But there's always that unusual thing, I guess, it can also be different things, but it's like, My life sucks, but I'm going to understand it, and not be like, pretending it's happy every single time, and indeed not, if it's good, being Captain Proud Thug. There is that other thing, even if it's intentionally, (I'm going to have a vocal.... Which is not singing....), far out..... Sorry. But anyway, I guess in the end you can get a sort of satisfaction, which is not stolen from anybody, or improper, even if it's just: I know for certain, exactly what I do not know (more or less).
