He probably is doing that and guitarists definitely do do those things. Like, you can see him bend his knees with the beat and he moves back and forth with the beat as well. But at the same time, his movements are a bit more exaggerated and you can tell he's putting some effort and more emotion into those movements and into the song.

I thought it was to help him keep in time in terms of guitar. I heard that guitarist tend to speed up as they play so they 'ghost pick' and sometimes do a certain body movement to stop themselves from speeding up?
