Actually Mariah's was the best, people lie, numbers don't. The reason the video didn't get much views is because most people realize that country artists are notorious for completely butchering remakes, and this version is no different. It pains me to admit because I LOVE Collin Raye, but this remake is terrible.

No one even remembers him recording it in the first place except a very select few of you with no taste. You're wrong about the song placement on the other charts, it was 2 and 3 on the other charts. Plus it spent 21 weeks in the Top 40 which is more than I can say for spending 4 measly weeks at no1 and then dropping out of the charts altogether (which is what Nilsson's did). It would be nice if you would learn what the word "popular" means, it means who's remembered for it.

I am going to trust you on this one because I could go digging through 30 years of crap to find my box of 45's just to see if it says Nilsson or Badfinger on it. I know I have it, but thank God for CD's because like all the awesome songs that came from that era, the vinyl is so scratchy from hundreds of plays. Tomorrow isn't busy, I might just go on a treasure hunt. Thanks for the info!!

Harry Nilsson made this song what it is. Badfinger never released it as a single. It was only an album cut. Nilsson took it to #1 in 1972.

Saying Mariah Carey's version is the most popular is false as well. Harry Nilsson's version hit number one on all U.S charts, Mariah Carey's hit number 3 on the billboard hot 100 and 4 and 7 on the others.

@WestliFerZul I never even knew that Mariah did this song. You can say what you want about her but Badfinger made this song what it is. I do love hearing Collin Raye singing it though. Mariah is good, but the credit in my opinion still goes to Badfinger. Sorry, I'm a child of the 70's so that is who I favor.

@WestliFerZul Are you sure her version was more popular than Harry Nilsson's? I know his version became a #1 hit and won a Grammy, but I have no idea how well Carey's version did on that charts...I don't know if you did already or not, but you might want to add Harry Nilsson's name, Badfinger and the songwriters' names to the tags for the video--that might help boost the views a bit!

Just to let you know: "Without You" was actually originally performed by the classic rock band Badfinger and was written by two of the band's members, Pete Ham and Tom Evans. About a year after the original version was released, Harry Nilsson recorded it and had a hit. Tons of other artists have covered it, including Mariah Carey but ALL of them, other than Badfinger's version, are covers.
