A little over two years ago, I lost one of my best friends in a tragic and sudden accident. His name was Tom Bridegroom. It was one of the most heart breaking times in my life to this day. I still cannot believe he is gone.

I am dedicating this song I wrote, entitled "Beautiful Boy" to Tom and all of those who have lost someone close to them.

I am so humbled and honored that Tom's partner of six years and one of my best friends, Shane Bitney Crone, put my song "Beautiful Boy" in his award winning documentary "Bridegroom".

About Bridegroom:

On May 7th, 2011 Shane tragically lost the love of his life, Tom, to an accident. Because they weren't married or prepared for the unexpected, Shane lost all legal claim to Tom after he died. Tom's family banned Shane from the funeral and he was unable to say goodbye. On May 7th, 2012 Shane posted a video on YouTube, entitled "It Could Happen to You." He created it to honor his partner and show the world what can happen when two people are legally barred from having equal rights and equal protections under the law to marry.
