The video for "Crushed," though visually quite interpretive of the music in some ways, suffered from unstable 8-millimeter footage and the occasional problem with synchronization (at one point the viewer is hearing Liz sing one thing while her mouth is moving to something else entirely). But it nevertheless comes close to capturing the visual aspect of the music. The colours are bright and vibrant, and appear to move in and out of the shadows, along with the band members. We even catch a glimpse of Simon playing piano at one point, as well. The video ends with the camera panning to Liz, who bursts into laughter.

this song is a reminder of the best years of my life … in london many many years ago … my first day as a salesman in a shop in london on camden high street … i'm french … she's from sweden … i can barely speak english … she's amazingly beautiful … i pop in the shop to start my shift and this song is playing … then i feel shivers all over my body flushing red facing her amazing beauty and thought : "what on earth is this music !!!" … since then & more since i left london i can't sleep without some cocteau twins … her name is merrethe & is & will be a friend for ever !!!
