An original tune by Steep Ravine.
C'mon Home
Hand me down my walking shoes, I'm gonna walk a while
Down the hillsides and through the valleys
From the morning til' the darkness falls.
Well my toes started tappin', I said farewell my friends
I got a bone to pick with that awful sleet and rain.
Tucked away in the tall grass, I was dreaming
A tangled mess of songs in F out of time.
I saw the faces of my friends
They were smiling, singing "C'mon home"
"There's a lot to be said and done, c'mon home."
Set out east for the wastelands, where I did waste away
I was searching for hearts and diamonds
But I only found a rusty spade.
Started climbing higher, high as I could climb
Until my slurred and broken words turned to rhymes.
Swept away by the sleet and rain in the mountains
So high I could see horizons bend.
I prayed for snow to fill the road and to lie there for eternity
"There's a lot to be said and done, c'mon home."
Tucked away in the tall grass, I was dreaming
A tangled mess of songs in F out of time
I saw the faces of my friends
They were smiling, singing "C'mon home"
"There's a lot to be said and done, c'mon home."
