Sometimes it's not pride. Sometimes it's excitement in finding a record that really hits home after listening to dozens and dozens of albums that just don't click for whatever reason - excitement at something that you don't even choose to listen to multiple times a day but actually NEED to hear that often - and that excitement is what leads you to tell everyone you know about it, to talk about it nonstop. Sure some people do it for cred, but there are still those who love music for music's sake.

I think the pride mainly comes from having found that nugget of gold amongst the trash pile, and constantly wanting to preach it so that it doesn't stay hidden in that trash pile. Case in point this band - they seem to be, based on this one song I've heard of theirs, pretty damn pleasing to the ear. But has anyone heard of them? No. I admire hipsters. While the charts are filled with auto-tuned lip-syncers, they try to restore people's faith in good music with these bands. That's the pride.
