THIS WAS THE PURE SIMPLICITY OF ROCK N ROLL AT ITS BIRTH AND THAT'S WHAT MADE IT SO BEAUTIFUL. THANKS A MILLION.

If you never saw or heard of "Frogman" you would try to imagine what he would look like. I found him to look like he is. Not pretentious or put-on but a fat black guy that sang like he looked. He moves with a grace and confidence that is rare and just beautiful.

SHORT ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU WANT MORE. A CLASSIC WITH FROGMAN'S UNIQUE INTERPETATION AND THAT GREAT ROCK PIANO IN THE BACKGROUND. IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER.

From WIKIPEDIA: Fats Domino and Professor Longhair were young Henry's main influences while growing up.[1] When Henry played in talent shows, he dressed like Longhair and wore a wig with braids on both sides. His trademark croak, utilized to the maximum on his 1956 debut hit "Ain't Got No Home," earned Henry his nickname and jump-started a career that endures to this day.[1] "(I Don't Know Why) But I Do" and "You Always Hurt the One You Love", both from 1961, were his other big hits.[2]

On this day in 1961 {June 30th} Clarence 'Frogman' Henry performed "You Always Hurt The One You Love" on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand... About sixs weeks earlier on May 15th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #12 and spent 10 weeks in the Top 100... He also performed "Lonely Street" on the same show; it reached #57... R.I.P. Mr. Clark...
