Cilla's version is far superior to Dionne Warwick. Warwick does a brilliant version of San Jose but her version lacks the depth and emotion of Cilla's.

Absolutely the finest version of the best female's song of the '60s. I know many prefer the Dionne Warwick version, but that one is for the purists. This one has more emotion in the opening phrase than Warwick managed in her entire career. Just wonderful and one of the nicest things I have ever heard in my life.

Ah me.....the days when Cilla Black had some talent, and knew how to use it. what a contrast to the utter tripe she recorded from the mid-seventies onwards. such a pity that with the new red rum teeth and new nose came the diva personality, it's quite disturbing when you read the stories of her behaviour and superior attitude, some may not be true, but they cannot all be fabrications.
