Original version? You ain't even close it was originally recorded by Paul Williams and his Hucklebuckers back in 1949 when Chubby was around 8 years old. There many early covers, including one by Frank Sinatra. I don't know first speeded it up first but it was long B4 Chubby came across it!

There's a great scene from one of The Honeymooners shows where Norton (Art Carney) is trying to teach Ralph (Jackie Gleason) how to do this dance.CLASSIC!!!

This was not the original version Chubby recorded on Parkway records. The Hucklebuck was also never the flip of The Twist. On the original release, the b-side was called Toot and on the re-release, the flip was Twisting USA.

Ya this isn`t the original recording that was on the flip side of the Twist 45. This was re-recorded. Pretty good version though....but not the original.

This was Juggy Gales' song. Labinski had nothing to do with it.

Can you say Ralph Kramden & Ed Norton-Honeymooners? Ralph was dancing to this!

this is a good version, love Chubby Checker, but it's not the original version which was out long before this during the big band era; I think it was Tommy Dorsey's band that had an even better version than this.

In fairness, the first run of Chubby's rerecordings aren't bad at all...like this one...ain't the original though...
